The weather is now wintry enough that the backs of my hands have suddenly begun to go dry and red. This is my second or third winter with that effect. Haven’t found anything really effective for it. Most creams are scented, and anything scented gives me a rash.
In other seasonal news: this morning KOIT, to which I have lately been subjected for nine or ten hours most days, flipped a switch from Lite Rock with Less Talk (i.e. everything from Dan Fogelberg to Celine Dion) to The Only radio station that understands how You Feel about Christmas (and what’s the most fatheaded thing you‘ve heard today?). Oddly enough, it is an improvement: the supply of songs about sleighbells is not so great that they can exclude non-treacle and still fill the day.
Sorbolene cream, barrier cream or anything from Neways (Yes, it’s an evil MLM and I can’t stand them . . . but I haven’t found a better company for skin care products.)
I moved from the SF area to Maine and my skin has really taken a beating. Try Aquaphor or U-lactin; Also make sure you only use whole soaps (not commercial ones with the glycern removed) like Dr. Bronner’s. All should be available in any drugstore. Good luck.
Thanks, both!
I’ve been a devoted Bronnerite since my One True Ex turned me on to it twenty years ago.
Triamcinolone ointment helps bigly.
