I ain’t got no software

I updated my MacOS to 10.5 “Leopard”, and now the shell command sort no longer recognizes the ‘+’ option (to skip a specified number of words before beginning the key). Argh.

A newer version of POSIX forbids the old behavior; in place of sort +2 I can use sort -k3.

I also had to change some scripts for new versions of gnu coreutils had depreciated the old syntax ‘tail +2’, in favor of ‘tail -n2’.

I must say, I don’t like the plus syntax anyway.
