Now class, who can tell us why this advertisement (The Economist, Nov.12, p.67) bugs me?
When you meet the men and women who serve America in the military and government, you find the strength and character of this nation. . . .
LOCKHEED MARTIN
We never forget who we’re working for™
I think the ad is great. It inspires me to be a true American. It tells me that we know how to use public-private partnership to build the greatest military-industrial complex in history, unlike those commies of yore. It tells me that our boys and girls are strong Christians, not weaklings who throw below the belt punches and dream of some number of virgins in heaven as a reward for their cowardice. It makes me want to stand up and be proud. I’m standing up right now! I’m going to call up our beloved leader and tell him to create some jobs at the Lockheed Martin facility down the road.
