In 2018 E. Pegg provided this toroid, which uses just a single shape for faces. These are triangles {aab}, where a = 1.157493 (the blue ones in the pic) is the root of the equation 256 a8-256 a6-416 a4+496 a2-127 = 0 and b = 1 (the green ones). The central green squares of the pic mark the doorways of the corridor, while the outer blue octagon marks the equator.
